Bombs Away
Have you ever witnessed a 60-foot whipper? You can on E11($30 hotaches.com), one of the best climbing films ever made.

E11 documents, with heart-pounding reality, the Scottish hardman Dave MacLeod's dangerous obsession with making the first ascent of Rhapsody (E11 7a, or roughly 5.14c R/X).

E11's elegant direction and production, coupled with stunning footage of MacLeod on the route's mandatory, 30-foot runout at the crux, with accompanying screamers, helped the film achieve a rhythm and emotional arc rare in climbing cinema.

Golden Piton
This edition of Climbing Magazine also awards Dave MacLeod the golden piton for Trad climbing, for more on this, see our Blog.
